Build Your Own Wrap Pizzas

"Build Your Own" is another exciting part of the website I want to introduce to you all. Here you will be able to see various recipes that can be altered to suit your tastebuds. This can be especially useful for anyone with picky eaters in their households.

Personally, I can be picky when it comes to certain flavours or it can be challenging when a recipe is asking for something I don’t have. In that case, I end up altering a recipe or creating something completely new and unique.

This page features different foods with a couple variations as well as other recommended toppings and combinations. Don’t be scared to experiment in the kitchen! Its about having fun and enjoying what you eat. Try out some of these basic recipes and let me know about the great creations you come up with.

Build Your Own Wrap Pizzas

I am going to start off a bit easy with Wrap Pizzas. These are perfect for lunch or dinner and are something that can be personalized for each family member.

Main Ingredients:

Ezekial wraps are used for the base of each pizza (yes that’s right – you don’t even have to make the crust) which can be found in the freezer in the health food section of your grocery store. I recommend that you let them thaw in the fridge first in order to make them easier to pull apart.

For the sauce I recommend “Simply Natural“ tomato sauce or a pesto base.

Optional Ingredients (but not limited to):

Fruit and Veg

  • Mushrooms

  • Peppers

  • Kale

  • Spinach

  • Arugula

  • Zucchini

  • Olives

  • Avocado

  • Pineapple

  • Sweet potato

  • Onion

Other

  • Goat cheese

  • Prosciutto

  • Black beans

  • Chickpeas

  • Nutritional yeast

  • Fresh herbs

  • Spices

  • Hot sauce

Sauce

  • Tomato

  • Pesto

  • Salsa

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 400F

Spread a thin and even layer of sauce on the wrap

Add desired toppings

Place the pizzas on a baking sheet. Depending on the toppings, the cooking time can vary quite a bit so keep an eye on them. You will know they are ready when the wrap is crispy and a slightly darker brown. Expect it to take anywhere from 5 -10 minutes, and again, longer depending on toppings.

Recommendations:

Depending on your dietary feel free to substitute any dairy or meat to suit your needs.

Enjoy!
