Blue light glasses 101

I spend a lot of time in front of a screen like A LOT and I am sure many of you do as well. I knew that the blue light from my computer and phone were not good for my eyes but when I started to notice a lot more eye strain and even eye twitching, I figured I should give blue light glasses a shot.

Now I ordered mine a few years ago so I have no idea where I got them from but they are much more mainstream now so you can find them pretty easily on amazon or even glasses places. If you need a prescription, many places now offer it as an upgrade to your glasses.

Here are some reasons you should consider getting blue light glasses:

  • not only is blue light bad for your eyes but so are white lights which many of us are exposed to with the LED lights in our homes or bright lights in our offices.

  • blue light can disrupt our circadian rhythm and inhibit the production of melatonin

  • exposure to blue light can be damaging to your eyes

  • improve cortisol levels
